How Do I Take Care of My New Lenses*

While our lenses are engineered to last a long time they are precision optics and require care.

Preventing Scratches:

Most scratches occur from improper storage of sunglasses. Setting them lens down in a compartment in your care, throwing in a handbag with keys, or leaving them down in a place where small children can all result in damage.

Using the microfiber cleaning cloth case we provide during storage will prevent damage when not using your sunglasses. However, if a case is not available just ensure they are not near shop objects or are stored so the lenses are not vibrating or rubbing against something else will help.

Cleaning Sunglasses:

Keeping your sunglasses clean really helps them perform to the best of their ability. However, cleaning can also be the number one cause of scratching. When cleaning don't use paper products such as tissues or paper towels. They are abrasive and can scratch lenses. Also, ensure major debris and sand is completely off the lenses before cleaning. Sand is basically small rocks or glass. One grain rubbed into a lens can cause damage.

Ideally use a clean cloth. Our microfiber cases are perfect for cleaning. If they get dirty over time they can be washed like any other article of clothing. If you have to use your shirt try to use the inside of our shirt. It is less likely to be dirty and have debris on it. Also, only do this with soft materials.

The BEST method for cleaning lenses is to use one drop of dishwashing soap. At times when I'm doing dishes in the sink I just dip my sunglasses in there before I put in the dirty pots and pans. One drop of dish soap with a little water and smearing around with your fingers then rinsing really gets weeks of grime off the lenses and makes them sparkle like new.
